I love the winter holidays. I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon other than sitting in front of a fire, cuddled up in a warm blanket, watching a movie, with a yummy seasonal drink in my hand. I want you to get to experience this lovely afternoon as well, so grab a blanket, throw in a movie, and make one of these drinks to make your cozy winter day in just a little bit brighter.

The first drink I want to share with you is Christmas Sangria. It’s fruity and delicious. It’s neither a hot drink nor too sweet, but it boasts some seasonal flavors, like cranberry and orange. Mix this up at your next holiday shindig:

Ingredients
1 bottle White Wine
1 cup Orange Juice Concentrate
1 cup Cranberry Juice Concentrate
2 cups Club Soda
Fresh Cranberries
Fresh Oranges

 

Instructions

  1. In a large container blend together the white wine, and juice concentrates
  2. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes
  3. Add cold club soda just before serving
  4. Garnish with fresh cranberries and oranges

If you are looking for something non-alcoholic, this next recipe is for you. I love to make this in my slow-cooker and keep it warm, so it’s ready to drink all day. Plus, it makes my house smell just wonderful. Try this oh-so-yummy twist on a classic Christmas cup:

Serves: 8-10 servings

Ingredients
4 cups water {divided in half}
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons whole cloves
1 tablespoon allspice
3-4 sticks of cinnamon
1 large can pineapple juice
2 cans jellied cranberry sauce
4 cups apple cider

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, simmer brown sugar and 2 cups water
  2. Place spices in a bag or place in pot
  3. Simmer for 10 minutes then bring to boil
  4. Add pineapple juice
  5. Blend cranberry sauce into 2 cups of water and add to mixture
  6. Simmer for 15 minutes
  7. If you don’t add the spices to a bag, you will need to strain the liquid
  8. Add Apple Cider just before serving
  9. Serve with fresh whipping cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon

My last drink recipe is a fun holiday twist on a Hot Toddy. This is my all time favorite drink for days I get snowed in out here in Colorado. I keep the ingredients on hand all winter so I know I can always whip up a quick and tasty drink to enjoy whenever I want.

Ingredients
2 ounces of Chila Orchata Cinnamon Cream Rum
5 ounces of cinnamon and vanilla black tea
½ ounce of hot water
Garnish: with cinnamon sprinkled whip cream and cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. In a large mug add the tea bag and the 5 ounces of boiling water. Let the tea bag steep for 5 minutes then discard the tea bags. Let the tea cool.
  2. Add the tea, Chila Orchata Cinnamon Cream Rum and hot water to a serving glass
  3. Stir contents until fully mixed
  4. Garnish with cinnamon sprinkled whip cream and cinnamon stick
