Rachel is the Customer Success Specialist at Amenify. As a part of the Operations Team, Rachel focuses on helping providers and clients with in-home service needs and does a great job keeping everyone #AmenifyHappy. Her role is pivotal to our success in working with a mix of clients, markets, and services and Rachel often has to be an expert for a variety of audiences. In her six months with Amenify, Rachel has been impressively able to handle the evolving landscape of a startup business.

What did you do before Amenify?
Since moving to Colorado in May 2017, I was teaching at a pre-school. Before that, I was in Texas. I just got out of college and moved to Denver to be with family. Who in their right mind would say NO to moving to Colorado? It’s great here!

What attracted you to Amenify?
I like that I’m part of the team and was able to jump in really quickly. I also really like the startup scene in Denver. I specifically picked Amenify because it is a young, growing startup. It gives me an opportunity to work within several different groups with different goals. I love that my opinion is asked every day about something.

Who was the hardest interviewer in your application process?
My hardest interview was with Phil, our Co-Founder and VP of Sales, because he had so many questions regarding this new industry – a combination of real estate and technology.

What part of your role are you most excited about?
I’m excited to see how things evolve over the next six months, year, etc. Everything changes so quickly at a startup, it feels like we operate in dog years. In six months my role will be 100% different than it is right now and that’s okay! We have to embrace the change. We’re at a pivotal point where things are shifting…. new properties, new technology, more markets. Thankfully our service provider engagement tools are more scalable.

Where do you see yourself in 3 or 5 years?
It’s all about people. I’m not sure if that’s in client or customer success, but I like new things — so I guess it’s that I want to be a Jack (or Jill) of all trades. Cross-functional is fun!

What’s surprised you since starting?
It surprised me how interested I am in the business side of things. I don’t have a lot of experience in the business world.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to read, hike, and cook! Dark Matter by Blake Crouch was my most recent read. I’m into mysteries, thrillers, and a little sci-fi.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
Nothing weird comes to mind! In college, I worked as a tutor for athletes. Does that count?

What was your first job?
McDonald’s when I was sixteen. I think everyone should work in retail at some point! It’s hard but teaches you some great lessons.
