Amenify Launches Card Linking, Rewarding Residents for Everyday Spending

Roughly 90% of renters never engage with the optional amenities and experiences their community offers. And once a resident sets up autopay, they rarely open the resident app again — the relationship quietly goes dormant, and the amenities a property invested in go unused.
Amenify, the AI-powered resident commerce and services platform, is building the engine to change that. What began with welcome gifts, renewal gifts, and monthly resident gifts now extends to everyday spending itself: today the company announced that Card Linking — a feature letting residents connect an existing Visa card and automatically earn Shop Local Credits™ on rent and everyday purchases — is now live for residents at participating communities. Residents can earn up to 5% back in credits across dozens of national retailers, including gas and grocery.
It's a mechanical shift with a wide potential reach: renters represent tens of millions of households and hundreds of billions of dollars in annual spending — most of which, until now, has passed through the rental relationship without generating anything back for the people doing the spending.
Rent is the single largest line item in most residents' monthly budgets, and until now, it hasn't earned them much of anything. Together, these gifts and rewards create an evergreen reason for residents to keep coming back — turning a resident app most renters abandon into a lifestyle amenity that pays them back all year.
Amenify first previewed the idea in January, when it announced a strategic partnership with Visa Inc. to build a framework for resident commerce that didn't require issuing residents a new card. Card Linking is that plan reaching residents directly: link a card once, and the same infrastructure that already powers Amenify's marketplace of local and online merchants starts quietly matching eligible transactions in the background — no different card, no new number, no changed habits.

No new card to request or activate — Card Linking works with a Visa card residents already carry.
No manual redemption — Amenify Cash™ is added automatically, with nothing to scan, upload, or submit.
Amenify Cash™ can be spent across the services residents already use through Amenify: grocery and restaurant delivery, housekeeping, handyman visits, furniture and more.
On the back end, the goal was for none of it to be visible until it mattered, according to Danish Chopra, Amenify's Co-Founder and CTO/COO. "We're matching eligible transactions, calculating value in real time, and delivering it straight to the Amenify Wallet," Chopra said, "all without adding friction to a resident's day."
For the property managers Amenify already works with, the rollout costs nothing to adopt: no new systems, no integrations — just another reason for residents to see their community, and the platform behind it, as a place where everyday spending quietly pays them back.
The rollout builds on a resident commerce network that already reaches residents through property management software partners including RealPage, Entrata, Rent Manager, Venn, and Zego, together representing more than 20 million homes. Amenify said it expects to bring Card Linking to additional participating communities over the coming months as more residents link eligible cards.
